PRESS RELEASE: Moorhead Public Service to Hold Training Exercise on April 25 and 26, 2024

For Immediate Release on Wednesday, April 24, 2024

On Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26, 2024 Moorhead Public Service (MPS) will be conducting emergency response training, simulating a chemical leak, in coordination with the Moorhead Fire Department. This training exercise is part of MPS’ ongoing commitment to ensuring the highest levels of safety preparedness.

A key component of this exercise will be a series of practice responses by Moorhead Fire Department’s HAZMAT Team. The training exercise is scheduled in two parts; the first is set to begin at 9:00am on Thursday, April 25th. The second is set to begin at 9:00am on Friday, April 26th. The expected time to complete each exercise is two hours.

The purpose of this exercise is to enhance emergency response capabilities and ensure personnel are fully prepared to handle an emergency scenario, ensuring the safety of both the employees of MPS and the surrounding community.
