MOORHEAD WATER
RESTRICTIONS LIFTED
Water conservation measures in place in
Moorhead during the past week were lifted today, according to Cliff McLain, water division
manager for Moorhead Public Service. The water conservation advisories issued last Tuesday
are no longer in effect for Moorhead residents.
Moorhead water customers had been
asked to conserve water during the recent flood emergency. "We greatly appreciate all
the residential and commercial customers in Moorhead who reduced their water usage by
approximately 25 percent," says McLain. Moorhead's water remained safe to drink
throughout the flood, but residents were encouraged to conserve so that the City's
sanitary sewer system would not be overburdened.
Water conservation measures
helped the City's Wastewater Treatment Facility and lift stations avoid potential problems
during the recent rains.
