Contact: Troy Hall, Water Division Manager Phone: 218.299.5471 or 701.371.6571 'Dirty Jobs' Episode Featuring Moorhead's Water System Scheduled to Air on January 3 Moorhead Public Service (MPS) has announced that the ‘Dirty Jobs’ episode filmed at Moorhead’s Water Treatment Plant is scheduled to initially air on January 3, 2012, at 8:00 pm on the Discovery Channel.
The show’s host Mike Rowe, MPS’ water system personnel, and the ‘Dirty Jobs’ crew completed filming in late-April 2011. MPS’ water system personnel and Mike Rowe performed work to maintain a water softening basin–equipment used in a process for providing drinking water to Moorhead, Dilworth, and other area customers. MPS’ Water Division Manager Troy Hall said, “The show is a great opportunity for MPS to display one of the jobs that MPS personnel routinely perform to ensure reliable water and electric service for the Moorhead area.” In the show, Mike Rowe will display awards that MPS received for being voted Minnesota’s best‑tasting drinking water in 2009 and 2010.
The schedule for the initial airing and subsequent airings of the ‘Dirty Jobs’ episode featuring Moorhead’s Water Treatment Plant is available on the Discovery Channel’s Web site at www.discovery.com.
MPS is a community-owned utility serving the residents of Moorhead, Minnesota, with electricity and water.
