Power outage affects 2,500 customers in MoorheadMoorhead Public Service (MPS) crews worked to restore power to 2,500 customers early this morning. At approximately 4:37 am on Thursday, The MPS dispatch center was notified of an outage in South Moorhead. The outage was between 8th Street and 20th Street, and 9th Avenue South and 24th Avenue South. The outage affected 2,500 customers.
MPS crews were immediately called in and dispatched to the affected area. By 5:48 am all power had been restored, although 500-800 customers were restored within approximately 30 minutes. The outage was caused by a fault in underground cabling.
MPS is a community-owned utility serving the residents of Moorhead, Minnesota, with electricity, water, and broadband Internet access. ###
