10-Year Anniversary Celebration

Thanks for a great event!

We had great presenters from the MPS staff, Missouri River Energy Services, and the State of Minnesota. We also had great discussion with those in attendance about the future of Capture The Wind and renewable energy in Moorhead. If you were unable to attend but would still like to share some ideas with us, please use the form below and provide us with your input:

10 years already?!

As a municipal utility, MPS celebrates Public Power Week each October. This week celebrates the community benefits of locally-owned electric companies. It is in this time of celebration that MPS would like to hold a Capture the Wind® celebration. On Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon MPS is holding a 10-Year Anniversary Celebration and Informational Meeting. MPS has a commemorative Capture the Wind® gift for the first 250 Capture the Wind® in attendance.

At this event, MPS will share an overview of the program's past 10 years and receive input from you, the MPS customers, on what the next 10 years of Capture the Wind® could look like. The keynote speaker for the event will be William Glahn, Director of the Office of Energy Security for the State of Minnesota. Mr. Glahn will talk about renewable energy and the electric industry today, specifically here in Minnesota.

It is hard to believe that is has been 10 years since Moorhead Public Service (MPS) launched their Capture the Wind® Program. In May 1999, MPS' first wind turbine began generating electricity and like any milestone anniversary, we want to celebrate. We would like to extend the invitation to you to join us as we celebrate 10 years of renewable, home-generated electricity.
