Moorhead's Second Wind Turbine Generating Electricity!
Moorhead Public Service's second 750-kilowatt wind turbine generator is
spinning in sync with Zephyr, the utility's first wind turbine generator.
Construction was completed in the latter part of August, and the turbine
began generating electricity at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 25, 2001.

Moorhead Public Service is still ranked first nationally for the
percentage of customers participating in a renewable energy program
according to the National
Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The utility is also recognized for
charging the seventh-lowest premium in the nation for clean, wind energy.
